Good deodorizer for tennis shoes that have been left out in the rain?
brian h asked:
Left my tennis shoes on the front porch a couple of nights ago and they got soaked by a rain storm, the tennis shoes are dry now, but what a stink. Do I have to throw them away or is there something that will get the stink and dampness out on the inside? Home remedies welcome. Thanks.

Wash the tennis shoes in the washing machine with some towels and regular detergent add 1c. of baking soda to the water… Let them air dry.. Use a fan to speed up process or let them air dry in the sun… Good luck

Spray them with a mixture of vinegar and water. Then stuff the insides with dry newspaper. You may have to leave them awhile, or even change the newspaper. But vinegar and water will remove odors from just about anything, and newspaper absorbs moisture.
