How much money does it cost to build one simple tennis court?

leaysa asked:

I’m looking to go to my local homeowner’s association and propose the idea of building a tennis court in the neighborhood park. I need a ballpark estimate of the cost to build a simple tennis court (just one) with no lighting, just fencing, and the court itself. If anyone has sources I’d appreciate it.

Looks like the basic asphalt court starts at about $40,000 to $45,000, with the average price probably in the mid $50s to low $60s. Check out links below. Good luck :)

There is a lot to consider and the cost varies by location. Your best bet is to contact a builder in your area to get an estimate. This site covers everything that goes into the construction and maintenance of a tennis court.

If you consider a grass court:

    Good Luck

It depends on where in hte world you’re doing this. In the US and Europe, you have all these rules regulations that will drive the cost high. Plus the high cost of labor.

In the Caribbean (which is where I’m from), all it requires is building a decent foundation, paving with concrete, painting the court and lines. That could be done for less than USD $5000. OK maybe I’m being conservative. $10,000 US.
