What can womens tennis do help its poor ratings?

I’m a huge tennis fan and try to watch as much of it as I can but many times it’s never on TV. They always have mens tennis matches but never womens tennis. The news said that womens tennis was getting low ratings and getting worse. They are getting payed almost as much as men yet their ratings are far below mens rating.

    They need a major star, like a Roger Federer.

    More exciting players, glad that Henin is back though.

    Well now that Henin is back it should make it more interesting. I think they need more matches like the one last night Henin vs Dementieva. With people like Safina, unchallenged until about QF round and then Dementieva challenged in the second round, you can see how they’ve bought it on themselves. They are putting some of the best players against each other in the early rounds, no wonder the finals are straight set demolishers by Serena.

    i personally think that they (the women) need to challenge the top players.. and create some competitiveness, that would make things a bit more interesting..

    but personally, with the return of the Belgium top players (Clijsters/Henin) women’s tennis has already gone up..
    I think that they are a big contributor to womens tennis, and if players like Jankovic, Ivanovic, and sadly Sharapova, got their game back, and played well this would really help to bring womens tennis back..

    men are chauvinist pigs, its official.

    but womens tennis is still the only womens sport that men will voluntarily watch….apart from the beach volleyball at the olympics.
