I have an assignment for university and a section of the question is as follows:
You observe a young child holding a tennis racquet half way up the grip.
1. Give a rationale for the child’s action in biomechanical terms. Support your answer with a scientific diagram.
2. What implications could this have for the design of sporting equipment for children?
As someone who has never played tennis before, I have no idea why a child would be holding the racquet in this way. Can anyone who knows anything about tennis enlighten me as to why this is right or wrong or at least point me in the direction of someone who may know.
Thank you very much

For the center of the racket half way up by the pipe verses holding out at length childs hand covers about 27 in.
